MCN recently conducted a rigorous test of the ABS to see how the newer and more sophisticated demands from more basic systems.
We also tested a family car with ABS as standard.
The bikes were tested:
• BMW S1000RR - is an extraordinarily sophisticated ABS system that not only stop the front wheel to lock, but - race mode - to allow a certain amount of slippage of the rear wheels so you can return to the corners. When you are doing
• Honda Fire Blade with C-ABS - blew up the cellular network when we tested last year. And 'incredibly smooth and allows riders to brake than usual drivers nationwide.
• BMW K1300S - ABS is a generation behind the S 1000 RR, but the testers say that MCN has a phenomenal braking performance due to its long wheelbase and low Duolever front.
• Yamaha XJ6 ABS - budget, older generation of ABS
• Harley Electra Glide Ultra Limited - a heavy motorcycle of the older generation with ABS
The car was a Honda Civic hatchback - a typical family sedan car ABS typical.
Conditions were cold and wet.
The result was a shock that the BMW K1300S hit everything, including the car.
In fact, a large braking BM was 4.8 meters in less than 60 mph car - a surprising result considering it was a battle between two small surface area of the tire and the four large.
